PTSA Update

SPAM ( Save our Playground, Art & Music) 2014 is happening on Saturday, November 8th from 6-11pm at Church of Pacific in Princeville. The line-up includes PATO BATON, Fire & Tahitian Dancing, Sashamon, Mango Brothers, Santiago & the Steps Brothers, and the Soulgood Family. Along with this awesome entertainment, there will be food, beer & wine, live & silent auctions. We need help creating items for the silent and live auction in your child’s classroom. We have 2

months to work on something that has the children’s stamp on it. Here are some examples: Creative Class Photo, Bench, Chair or Table, Shell/Driftwood Mirror, Frame or Sign, Quilt, Blanket, Flag, Wall Hanging, Painted Surfboard, Skateboard, Large Canvas Class Painting, Stained Glass, Pottery Painted Bowl or Pot, Hand Carved Koa Bowl or Carving.

We also need help collecting items/ goods, & services from the community to donate to our silent auction. The silent and live auction is where we raise the most money, so these are very important! We have the donation solicitation forms in the PCNC/PSAP room in between the library and computer lab. We need to get the name, address and phone number of the donor and the value of the donation. These are tax deductible donations so be sure to mention that!!
If you or your business would like to donate a good or service, we welcome your donation!

At the event, we will need help with Set-Up & Clean-Up, Parking, Silent Auction, Food, Alcohol, Decorations, Ticket Sales & Security. For more info or to sign up to help, call Lola at 635-4047. Thank you! We couldn’t do any of this without the help of you and our wonderful community!!

The PTSA is happy to announce they will be coordinating the PTSA REFLECTIONS PROGRAM this year. Students can create works of art and literature in many forms. This is an individual student effort that they will do at home under the guidance of their parents. This year’s theme is “The world Would Be A Better Place If…” and all of their entries should reflect this theme. The areas include: Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, and Film Production. Students may enter in every category if they so choose. Last day to submit their entries is Friday, November 21, 2014. They will be judged at the local level (island-wide), then at the state level if they continue on, and finally, to the National PTA judging. There are some great prizes! Join us at our next weekly board meeting this Wednesday at 7:50am to learn more and share your ideas.
